De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde has evolved from its origins as a night school, consistently leading the way in innovative education centered around a learner-focused philosophy. This approach is deeply embedded within the De La Salle-college Of Saint Benilde Career Development Program, aiming to equip students for successful futures.
Benilde distinguishes itself by introducing degree programs that were once considered unconventional career choices. Decades ago, these fields were largely unexplored in traditional academic settings. Today, the college is celebrated for its forward-thinking approach, continuously providing non-traditional programs that directly address the needs of established industries and the burgeoning sectors of Deaf applied studies, design and arts, hospitality and tourism management, business, and diplomatic affairs. This commitment to relevant and future-oriented education is a cornerstone of the De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde career development program, ensuring graduates are well-prepared for the evolving job market.
The School of Hotel, Restaurant, and Institution Management (SHRIM) at Benilde achieved a significant milestone in 2016, becoming the first hotel school in the Philippines to attain Level IV status from the Philippine Accrediting Association of Schools, Colleges and Universities (PAASCU). This is the highest level of recognition awarded by PAASCU. Simultaneously, SHRIM was recognized as a Center of Excellence by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED). Similarly, Benilde’s School of Management and Information Technology (SMIT) has also been designated as a CHED Center of Excellence for its Business Administration programs. Furthermore, SMIT has earned PAASCU Level 4 status in both Human Resource Management and Export Management. These accreditations underscore the dedication of the De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde career development program to providing industry-standard education and fostering career readiness in its students. The college currently boasts 13 degree programs accredited by PAASCU, demonstrating its ongoing commitment to quality education.
CHED has reaffirmed Benilde’s autonomous status in 2024, extending this recognition until 2027 through Memorandum Order No. 7, Series of 2024. This renewal builds upon the initial autonomous status granted in 2019 under CMO No. 12, Series of 2019. Moreover, De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde has been recognized as an Apple Distinguished School for the third time, covering the academic years 2022-2025, following previous accolades from 2019-2021. These recognitions highlight Benilde’s continuous pursuit of excellence and its dedication to providing a cutting-edge learning environment that significantly enhances the De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde career development program, ultimately benefiting student outcomes and future career prospects.
