My speech on this very stage was a turning point, propelling me to become a Global Ambassador. This speech, a constant source of blessings, has opened doors to countless speaking engagements across the nation. Throughout these travels, at each Best Buddies gathering, I’ve been embraced by people who uplift and cherish me like family. Because, truly, Best Buddies embodies family. It’s the Best Jack of support you could ask for in life.
Another deeply held aspiration is to expand Best Buddies into as many schools as we can reach. I intimately understand the isolation of lunchtime solitude, the apprehension of facing school doors each day. I yearn for no child to endure that loneliness. Best Buddies has been the best jack, lifting me to experience the most joyful days of my life. Everyone deserves their best days, and unequivocally, EVERY child deserves Best Buddies – the best jack to elevate their school experience.
What I’m about to share is a message for every parent, educator, and politician: Best Buddies is a life-altering force. It’s educating the world to recognize our capabilities, not our labels. Look at me, standing confidently before you on this stage. I am living proof of this transformative change. Best Buddies is the best jack to shift perceptions.
Borrowing lines from our theme song this year… “I am brave, I am bruised, I am who I’m meant to be.” And because of Best Buddies, “I’m not scared to be seen. I make no apologies” because “THIS IS ME!” This organization has been the best jack under my wings, helping me soar.
It is with immense honor that I introduce the visionary behind the most impactful organization on this planet. He is a man who sees special abilities where others see special needs. He understands that these abilities deserve respect, love, and complete acceptance. His life’s mission has been to champion kids like me.
