The All-New 2025 Toyota Camry Hybrid: Efficiency and Power, Redefined

PLANO, Texas (April 18, 2024) – For 22 years, the Toyota Camry has reigned supreme as America’s best-selling sedan, a testament to its captivating design, exceptional quality, and unwavering reliability. The 2025 Toyota Camry is poised to elevate this legacy, embracing an exclusively hybrid powertrain while showcasing a bold, athletic exterior, a meticulously crafted interior, and cutting-edge technological advancements.

Toyota’s leadership in hybrid technology is undisputed, and the ninth-generation Camry proudly carries this torch. The 2025 Toyota Camry hybrid integrates the sophisticated fifth-generation Toyota Hybrid System (THS 5) with a 2.5-liter, 4-cylinder engine. This dynamic pairing delivers a robust 225 net-combined horsepower in standard Front-Wheel Drive (FWD) models and an even more impressive 232 horsepower in Electronic On-Demand All-Wheel Drive (AWD) configurations. Furthermore, the Toyota Camry hybrid achieves remarkable fuel efficiency, boasting a manufacturer-estimated combined 51 MPG rating for the LE FWD grade.

In a first for the Camry hybrid, Electronic On-Demand All-Wheel Drive (AWD) is now available across the entire trim lineup – LE, SE, XLE, and XSE. This intelligent AWD system employs a dedicated rear electric motor to provide on-demand power to the rear wheels. This ensures enhanced traction in challenging weather conditions, уверенное acceleration from a standstill, and improved handling during spirited cornering.

The 2025 Toyota Camry hybrid is anticipated to arrive at Toyota dealerships in late spring 2024, with a starting Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) of $28,400*. Remarkably, this starting price is over $400 less than the previous Camry Hybrid base grade, while offering an expanded suite of standard features.

*MSRP Excludes Dealer Processing and Handling fee of $1,095. All prices are subject to change.

Hybrid Performance Without Compromise The 2025 Toyota Camry hybrid is engineered around the fifth-generation Toyota Hybrid System (THS 5), seamlessly integrating a 2.5-liter, 4-cylinder engine to produce a standard 225 net-combined horsepower in Front-Wheel Drive (FWD) models. This powertrain not only delivers the most standard horsepower ever offered in a Camry but also achieves exceptional fuel economy, with an estimated 51 MPG combined for the LE FWD variant. The THS 5 system utilizes lighter and more compact electric motor generators, resulting in increased power and enhanced performance compared to its predecessor.

Toyota engineers have meticulously calibrated the new THS 5 system to provide a more responsive and natural acceleration feel, perfectly synchronized with engine speed. This refined driving experience is achieved by optimizing power delivery from the Lithium-Ion traction battery through the electric motor generator, effectively minimizing abrupt engine speed increases during acceleration.

The Camry’s electronically controlled Continuous Variable Transmission (eCVT) further enhances efficiency by intelligently selecting the optimal gear ratio based on throttle input, maximizing fuel economy.

Electronic On-Demand All-Wheel Drive Available Across All Trims For added confidence and control, Electronic On-Demand All-Wheel Drive (AWD) is offered across all 2025 Toyota Camry hybrid grades. Engineered to work in harmony with THS 5, this system utilizes a rear axle electric motor generator, boosting the net-combined horsepower to 232 – a significant 30 horsepower increase over the previous mechanical All-Wheel Drive model.

The AWD system provides precise and immediate front-rear torque distribution, adapting to driving conditions to optimize start-off acceleration, handling, and stability in everyday driving scenarios. When encountering slippery surfaces or detecting tire slippage, the system intelligently adjusts torque distribution to the rear wheels, ensuring ample traction and keeping the Toyota Camry hybrid firmly on its intended path, bolstering driver confidence.

Refined Handling and Ride Comfort Drivers of the 2025 Toyota Camry hybrid will appreciate the retuned suspension, engineered for enhanced responsiveness and agile handling, injecting a sense of excitement into every drive, especially on winding roads. All models feature a meticulously optimized MacPherson strut front suspension and multi-link rear suspension. The SE and XSE grades elevate the driving experience further with a sport-tuned suspension, incorporating new shock absorbers in both the front and rear, and a larger diameter front stabilizer bar. This sport-tuned setup provides increased comfort while delivering even greater stability, refined handling, and enhanced driver confidence.

Further enhancing control is the improved brake feel delivered by the newly implemented braking system. The Electronically Controlled Braking system (ECB) utilizes on-demand pressurization via a new pump motor within the brake actuator, resulting in superior controllability and brake pedal feel.

Drivers can personalize their Toyota Camry hybrid driving experience with standard selectable NORMAL, ECO, and SPORT driving modes, tailoring the vehicle’s performance characteristics to their preferences.

Sleek and Athletic Design The ninth-generation Camry, a product of CALTY’s Newport Beach, California and Ann Arbor, Michigan studios, showcases a more streamlined and athletic silhouette for the new sedan. The distinctive hammerhead front fascia provides a fresh and modern aesthetic, becoming a signature Toyota design element. LED headlights and daytime running lights are standard across all grades.

The comfort-focused LE and XLE grades present a refined style, featuring a horizontal bar front grille in black on the LE and a dark metallic grey finish on the XLE. The LE now comes standard with 16-inch alloy wheels, while the XLE boasts 18-inch black and machine-finished alloy wheels. The XLE further distinguishes itself with chrome-finished window trim and a chrome-finished Camry name badge, elements shared across both comfort grades.

The SE and XSE grades inject aggressive sporty flair into the Toyota Camry hybrid lineup, featuring sport-mesh front grilles, side sport rockers, and black accents that complement the sleek roofline and sculpted body. Functional front side air ducts, canards, a rear spoiler, and a rear diffuser contribute to the racing-inspired design, enhancing aerodynamic performance. The rear design also incorporates an exposed dual-tip exhaust, reinforcing the sporty impression. The Camry name badge is finished in gloss black on both sport grades, with the XSE badge further enhanced by a unique blacked-out trunk garnish. The XSE trim level makes a bold statement with a color-matched front grille, front side canards, and rear diffuser. Wheel options include 18-inch black-finished alloys on the SE and top-of-the-line 19-inch black and smoke gray-finished alloy wheels on the XSE.

Exterior color palettes include new options like Ocean Gem and Heavy Metal, joining Camry favorites such as Ice Cap, Wind Chill Pearl, Celestial Silver Metallic, Underground, Midnight Black Metallic, Supersonic Red, and Reservoir Blue. The XSE grade offers an optional two-tone look, pairing Ocean Gem, Wind Chill Pearl, Heavy Metal, and Supersonic Red with a Midnight Black Metallic roof.

Interior Cabin: Modern and Refined The 2025 Toyota Camry hybrid interior seamlessly blends Toyota’s renowned craftsmanship with a modern, open-concept design and premium materials, offering a unique experience tailored to each grade.

Starting with the sport grades, the SE features SofTex®-trimmed seats accented with sporty bold white accents in either Boulder or Black. The XSE elevates the interior with standard leather-trimmed seats featuring artistic “shooting blade” patterned perforations on both the side door trim and seating surfaces. The XSE interior is available in two color schemes: Black with blue-lined perforations or the striking Cockpit Red. Both SE and XSE grades are equipped with standard aluminum sport pedals, a leather-wrapped steering wheel with paddle shifters, and a leather-wrapped shift knob.

The comfort grades also showcase distinctive interior personalities. The LE features an expertly designed interior inspired by ocean waves, incorporating an embossed pattern in woven fabric on the interior trim and seat surfaces, available in Boulder or Black. The premium XLE grade marks a first for the Toyota Camry, featuring a sophisticated combination of leather and Dinamica® microfiber-trim, offered in Light Gray or Black. A quilted pattern with Dinamica® trim is also integrated into the front door panels and dashboard.

Seat comfort is enhanced across the 2025 Toyota Camry hybrid range. Toyota engineers achieved this by refining the shape and density of the seat cushion and increasing its length. The headrest was also softened and repositioned rearward to improve seat ergonomics and ride comfort. Heated front seats come standard on the XLE and XSE grades and are optional on the LE and SE grades. Higher trims also offer available front ventilated seats and a standard heated steering wheel. Furthermore, the XLE and XSE grades include standard 8-way power-adjustable driver and passenger seats.

A quieter cabin environment is achieved in the XLE and XSE grades thanks to standard front-side acoustic laminated glass, effectively reducing wind noise and harshness.

The Toyota Camry hybrid also sets a new standard for convenience. The next-generation model includes standard Push Button Start and a dual-zone automatic climate control system with rear air vents. For households with multiple drivers, the XLE grade offers an available driver’s memory seat and memory side view mirrors. Adding to the convenience, the XLE also offers available automatic rain-sensing windshield wipers. For the first time in a Camry hybrid, the XLE and XSE grades offer the option of a power tilt and slide panoramic roof with a power-retractable sunshade.
