2025 Ram 1500 News: Unveiling the Anticipated RHO Model

Ram Trucks has ignited excitement among pickup enthusiasts by teasing the reveal of a new truck on April 25th. This mystery vehicle, spotted being towed by a 2024 Ram 2500 Rebel, strongly suggests the arrival of the highly anticipated 2025 Ram 1500 RHO. While the RHO will not directly replace the legendary TRX, which concluded its production run in the 2024 model year, it is poised to become a significant extension of Ram’s performance truck lineage. Production is slated to commence in Q3 2024 at the Sterling Heights Assembly Plant (SHAP), making this upcoming reveal a pivotal moment for Ram this year.

Ram 1500 RHO: Carrying the Performance Off-Road Torch

The introduction of the Ram 1500 TRX in 2021 dramatically reshaped the performance off-road pickup segment. It achieved this with its impressive array of off-road features and the iconic supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI® HELLCAT V8 engine, delivering a staggering 702 horsepower. The TRX was built upon a unique frame, distinguishing itself from standard fifth-generation Ram 1500 models. It boasted a specialized suspension system designed for high-speed desert running, incorporating front and rear 2.6-inch Bilstein BlackHawk e2 adaptive performance shocks and a long-travel suspension configuration offering 13 inches of wheel travel at each corner.

Hurricane Engine Powering the 2025 Ram 1500 RHO

Despite the anticipated absence of the Gen3 HEMI engine from the broader 2025 Ram 1500 lineup, Ram engineers are innovatively integrating the TRX’s celebrated off-road technology into the RHO. This new model will be powered by the cutting-edge twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter HURRICANE High-Output (H/O) I-6 engine. While Ram has yet to officially disclose the meaning of the RHO acronym, speculation suggests it stands for ‘Rebel High Output,’ hinting at a potentially more accessible entry point into the high-performance Ram truck family compared to the TRX.

While the RHO will not match the TRX’s formidable 702 horsepower, it is expected to deliver a robust output of at least 540 horsepower and 521 lb.-ft. of torque when using premium fuel. Throughout the past year, numerous RHO prototypes have been observed undergoing testing in the Detroit metropolitan area. While the RHO is expected to inherit much of the TRX’s distinctive styling, the automotive community is eager to discover what additional enhancements Ram has planned for this new performance pickup.

Mark your calendars for April 25th to witness the official unveiling of the 2025 Ram 1500 RHO and to receive comprehensive details about this exciting addition to the Ram truck lineup. Stay tuned for the latest 2025 Ram 1500 News and updates as they emerge.
